Visiting in May or early June on a weekday? Consider planning your visit for after 2 p.m. if you prefer a quieter experience. We're thrilled to have nearly 1,000 excited school children visiting between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on most days, but we know it can be a little too noisy for some folks!

Minnesota History Day at the State Fair

For the fifth year, it’s Minnesota History Day at the State Fair’s Carousel Park with an action-packed line-up. Included with Fair admission!


10 to 11 a.m.: 9 Nights of Music Sampler and dance lessons featuring bluegrass band The High 48s and dance instruction
11:15-11:45 a.m.: Meet the Past! Stan Turner interviews luminaries from Minnesota History
12-12:30 p.m. and 3:30-4 p.m.:  Minnesota History Challenge! Test your knowledge of Minnesota, the State Fair and more and win a prize.
1-2:30 p.m.: Big Wow Variety Show - All About Toys
