Minnesota Historical Society at the State Fair

History-on-a-Schtick - Daily Free show!

Join the Minnesota Historical Society at the State Fair - 9:30 & 10:30 am daily, Aug. 25-Sept. 5
History on a Schtick logoSchilling Amphitheater in the West End (near the bus drop off area)
Experience a lighthearted romp through Minnesota's past at the Minnesota State Fair's Schilling Amphitheater in the West End Market. What happens when Paul Bunyan, the Pillsbury Dough Boy and Snoopy face-off in a quiz show hosted by Betty Crocker? Or, when a scholarly voyageur wearies his fellow travelers with his overenthusiasm for Minnesota history? For the second year, MNHS presents a daily show made up of 30 minutes of wacky fun, with trivia, prizes and astonishing historical tidbits.
The original script (with a catchy new song about the State Fair!) is penned and directed by local actor and playwright Beth Gilleland. Music direction by Kevin Dutcher. Brought to you by the Minnesota Historical Society and the Minnesota State Fair Foundation.
