Sometimes called Minneapolis’ answer to Haight Ashbury, the West Bank is rich with stories populated by music greats such as Bob Dylan, Bonnie Raitt, Koerner, Ray, and Glover and Willie Murphy.

In support of the Minnesota History Center’s 1968 project, wander through the haunts, lore and characters of the West Bank: home to the original Electric Fetus record store, countless bands and musicians, and a lot of colorful stories.

This walking tour down Cedar Avenue recounts the lore of an era of lively optimism and memorable music, and explores legendary haunts including Palmer’s and the Triangle Bar.
