Home School Days: Minnesota and the Civil War
Wed., June 26, 2013

Help us commemorate the 150th anniversary of Gettysburg and its importance for all Americans with a special day of family fun and learning. Keep your students engaged with some terrific tales of the heroism, sacrifice and determination of Minnesota’s men and women during America’s greatest challenge. Students and parents will have opportunity to visit the thrilling “
Minnesota and the Civil War” exhibit and view fascinating artifacts, including a Confederate battle flag and some very well-preserved hard tack. Participants will hear stories like those of Charley Goddard, who was just 15 when he enlisted in the First Minnesota Volunteer Infantry Regiment.
